Huddersfield's Crabtree calls time on career

Distinguished Huddersfield Giants servant and former England international Eorl Crabtree has retired from rugby league.

Crabtree made 423 appearances for the Giants, scoring 79 tries, since making his debut in 2000.

The 34-year-old prop, who was capped 18 times by his country, will take up a commercial and marketing role with Huddersfield.

"It has been an honour and a pleasure to serve my hometown club throughout my entire professional playing career," he said in a statement on the club website.

"My head and body are telling me it is time to hang up the boots while still a regular Super League first teamer."
