Injured Rohit could miss England ODI series

India batsman Rohit Sharma could also play no part in the one-day international series against England as well as missing all five Tests due to a thigh injury.

Rohit was initially thought to be facing up to eight weeks out of action due to the thigh problem he sustained in the ODI series-clinching victory over New Zealand last week.

But the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) on Friday revealed that the 29-year-old is now expected to miss out for between 10 and 12 weeks.

Rohit will fly to England next week to see a consultant and is set to miss the entire Test series against Alastair Cook's men - starting next Wednesday.

He could also sit out of the three ODI encounters with England in January, which take place in January before two Twenty20 internationals.

Hardik Pandya received a maiden call-up for the opening two matches of the Test series in the absence of Rohit.
