Cubs dramatic World Series win a TV-ratings monster

A thrilling World Series game seven that saw the Chicago Cubs end their 108-year-old curse resulted in staggering overnight TV ratings.

Multiple reports say Cubs thrilling extra-innings 8-7 victory over the Cleveland Indians drew a 25.2 rating and a 40 per cent share of viewers.

Fox Sports posted on Twitter that Wednesday's numbers made game seven the most-watched baseball game since 2001's World Series decider in which the Arizona Diamondbacks beat the New York Yankees.

The Cubs-Indians clincher saw an increase of 66 per cent over game seven of the 2014 World Series between the San Francisco Giants and Kansas City Royals.
