Tasman struck late to maintain their unbeaten run in the Mitre 10 Cup, courtesy of an evenly matched 27-27 draw with North Harbour.
On the back of four-straight wins, Premiership side Tasman entered the contest in fine form, but Championship outfit North Harbour took the lead five times in the contest, only to be pegged back by their visitors each time.
The two sides were tied at 13-13 at the break after tries from Matt McGahan and David Havili, plus kicks from Bryn Gatland and Marty Banks.
Adrian Smith's converted 67th minute try looked to have given North Harbour victory, but the visitors had other ideas.
Shannon Frizell touched down for Tasman, his try converted by Banks with five minutes to play, and there was further drama as the away side were awarded a penalty on halfway in the third minute of overtime, but Banks' effort from halfway hit the crossbar.
