Ogier on the brink after Corsica win

Sebastien Ogier won his first Tour of Corsica to inch closer to a fourth World Rally Championship title.

WRC's dominant force, Frenchman Ogier had surprisingly never won in his home country, but he turned that around with a fine performance.

Ogier won the first four stages to stretch out an advantage over Kris Meeke, who fell almost a minute and a half behind due to a puncture on stage two.

The Briton's chances went up in smoke as he crashed into a tree on the second day of the event, effectively handing Ogier the opportunity to cruise to victory.

Tricky conditions brought on by wet weather could not derail the Frenchman, who extended his lead in the championship to 68 points over fellow Volkswagen driver Andreas Mikkelsen, who battled Thierry Neuville for second place in the latter stages, but could not overcome the Hyundai driver.
