Veteran Bosc prolongs Catalans career

Catalans Dragons' record points-scorer, Thomas Bosc, will spend a 12th season at the club after signing a one-year contract extension, which will also see him serve as assistant coach of the Under-23s at Stade Gilbert Brutus.

The versatile Bosc, who has contributed 1,169 points in 210 Super League appearances for Catalans, is currently sidelined with a knee injury, but remains confident he can contribute in 2017.

"I've taken my time before taking a decision but I feel good and I'm ready to start a new season," said the France international.

"I'm really happy with the project offered by the club, being named as the under-23s assistant coach.

"I'm 33 now and I think about my career after rugby. I had my first experience last year with the under-19 team and I'm excited to continue learning alongside Jerome Guisset [Catalans' Under-23 head coach]."

Dragons head coach Laurent Frayssinous added: "I'm really happy to keep Thomas at the club next season. He is an important player in our squad, for his versatility at the key positions in the halves, as a hooker or a full-back but also for his qualities and his values.

"He is an example of professionalism and humility. I can only be pleased with his decision to stay at the club. He will continue to share his experiences with the younger players and continue learning for his career after rugby."
