Hodge set for first Wallabies start

The Wallabies will welcome South Africa to Brisbane for Saturday's Rugby Championship clash with two new faces in the starting line-up.

After impressing off the bench against world champions New Zealand in the Bledisloe Cup a fortnight ago, Reece Hodge has been promoted to the starting side for the first time in his career.

Hodge, 22, comes in on the wing for Adam Ashley-Cooper, who has returned to French side Bordeaux.

The only other change made by Australia coach Michael Cheika as he seeks his first win in this year's Rugby Championship following back-to-back defeats to the All Blacks is Dean Mumm.

Mumm - making his 49th Test appearance - will start at blindside flanker alongside veteran David Pocock and Michael Hooper in the back row.

Back-rower Lopeti Timani is line for a debut after being named among an extended bench for the game at Suncorp Stadium, while wing Drew Mitchell could make his first appearance since the 2015 Rugby World Cup final after overcoming a groin injury.

Australia XV in full: Scott Sio, Stephen Moore, Sekope Kepu, Kane Douglas, Adam Coleman, Dean Mumm, Michael Hooper, David Pocock, Will Genia, Quade Cooper, Reece Hodge, Bernard Foley, Samu Kerevi, Dane Haylett-Petty, Israel Folau.
