Willey given all clear for England duty

David Willey will join up with the England one-day international squad on Thursday after a scan revealed the all-rounder has not fractured his hand.

Willey was ruled out of the five-match series against Pakistan after the left-arm seamer was struck on the left hand when Mark Stoneman drilled a straight drive back at him during Yorkshire's T20 blast semi-final defeat to Durham on Saturday.

The 26-year-old underwent an X-ray on Sunday that did not clear him of a significant injury and underwent a further scan before visiting a consultant on Monday.

Willey will miss the opening game of the series in Southampton on Wednesday, but has been cleared to report for international duty the following day.

Seamer Jake Ball was called up as a replacement for Willey on Sunday.
