The Parramatta Eels have confirmed that Kieran Foran has been released from his contract.
Reports of off-field issues have swirled around Foran since his high-profile switch to Parramatta ahead of the 2016 season.
The New Zealand back was already ruled out for the remainder of the NRL season due to a shoulder injury, and had been reported to have walked out of the club earlier this month.
Australian media has suggested that Foran had demanded AUD200,000 to have his contract terminated early, with an agreement now seemingly reached.
"The Parramatta Eels have granted Kieran Foran a release from the remainder of his contract with the club," a brief statement read.
"The Eels wish him well for the future."
Foran is expected to make a television appearance over the weekend, detailing his off-field battles.
The Eels are thought to be mulling over a move for cross-sport star Jarryd Hayne now that Foran's release is confirmed.
