Could N'Golo Kante be the signing of the summer?
Chelsea have completed arguably the highest-profile transfer of the summer so far after confirming Leicester's title-winning defensive midfielder N'Golo Kante would make the move to Stamford Bridge for a reported £32 million.
Kante's price is almost six times the amount Leicester paid for the France international just 12 months ago, but after he was a key man in the Foxes' unlikely charge to the Premier League title it looks like it could be money well spent.
Certainly on the evidence of his stats last season it's hard to disagree.
The 25-year-old made more interceptions and tackles than any other player in the top-five European leagues and, given Chelsea's inability to lock down in midfield during a woeful title defence, he looms as a perfect fit for their new era under Antonio Conte.
Kante has signed a five-year deal with the Blues and has admitted the offer was "too good to turn down".
His arrival sets the stage for six weeks of transfer activity across the league that has so far been highlighted by Manchester United arrivals Zlatan Ibrahimovic and Henrikh Mkhitaryan.
Their attacking flair marks them as obvious candidates as the most exciting signings - especially after United's dour record last term - but it might be that Kante's indefatigable spirit will prove even more important in Chelsea's own bid to return to the top.
