Johhny Manziel is without an NFL team for 2016, but that is not stopping him from preparing for the upcoming season.
Manziel, 23, remains a free agent after he was released by the Cleveland Browns in March following his sophomore season.
The quarterback is also facing a misdemeanour charge for allegedly assaulting ex-girlfriend Colleen Crowley in January, which the NFL are also investigating, meaning it could lead to a suspension.
"[Manziel's] immediate plans are to start getting ready for football," his attorney, Jim Darnell, told ESPN.
However, Darnell added that Manziel realises the 2017 season may be a more realistic goal, giving him time to sort through a number of off-field issues. "We're working on it," he said.
A possible NFL return is also hurt by the fact that he does not have an agent - having been fired twice since February.
