Cronk concern for Queensland
Queensland could be without Cooper Cronk in the first game of the State of Origin series after the halfback damaged his ankle in training.
Cronk rolled his ankle during a session on the Gold Coast on Friday and Queensland coach Kevin Walters revealed that the Melbourne Rebels playmaker may miss the series-opener against New South Wales at ANZ Stadium next Wednesday.
"He's in doubt," Walters said. "His ankle swelled up like a balloon.
"We will get some scans as soon as we can and go from there.
"It is disappointing for Cooper. You want these things to go as smoothly as possible but we will get on with it. We will give Cooper every chance to prove his fitness - he's a good healer."
Daly Cherry-Evans and Brenton Lawrence were unable to train with Queensland after the flights they were due to board were grounded due to strong winds.
Manly Sea Eagles halfback Cherry-Evans was only scheduled to train with the Maroons on Friday, but will link up the squad on Saturday as a result of Cronk's injury.
