Anaheim Ducks have fired Bruce Boudreau despite him leading the team to four consecutive Pacific Division titles.
The Ducks finished the 2015-16 season with a 46-25-11 record, but a first-round play-off loss to the Nashville Predators in seven games proved to be Boudreau's undoing.
"This was a very difficult decision to make. Bruce is a good coach and character person, and we wish him the best of luck in the future," Ducks general manager Bob Murray said via a statement.
Boudreau had a 208-104-40 regular-season record in five seasons in Anaheim, but never reached the Stanley Cup Finals.
Prior to his time with the Ducks, Boudreau spent five seasons coaching the Washington Capitals, leading them to four Southeast Division titles in five seasons before being fired.
