Olympic champion Beloborodova provisionally suspended in doping case

Reigning Olympic hammer throw champion Tatyana Beloborodova has been provisionally suspended by the IAAF as part of a doping case.

The Russian, who competed under her maiden name Lysenko, claimed the Olympic gold at London 2012 and also won world titles in 2011 and 2013.

However, the IAAF has provisionally suspended Beloborodova as part of an ongoing doping case.

The 32-year-old previously served a two-year ban from 2007 until 2009 for using steroids.

Russia is currently banned from all international track and field competitions following allegations of "state-sponsored doping" in a report published by an independent commission established by the World Anti-Doping Agency (WADA) last November.
