Cuthbert signs new Blues deal

Wales wing Alex Cuthbert has committed his future to Cardiff Blues by signing a new contract with the region.

Cuthbert, who is celebrating his 26th birthday on Tuesday, has scored 37 tries in 79 appearances for the Blues, having made his debut during the 2011-12 season.

"I've really enjoyed the environment and culture this season at Cardiff Blues under [head coach] Danny Wilson and the direction we are all now heading in," he told the Blues' official website.

"The players have really bought into the style of rugby we're looking to produce and that has been reflected in the results over the last six months.

"I'm pleased to sign a new contract at Cardiff Blues and looking forward to getting back to full fitness and the start of next season."

Cuthbert, who is currently undergoing rehabilitation following knee surgery, has won 42 Wales caps and was part of the British and Irish Lions tour to Australia in 2013.

No details regarding the length of the new deal have been revealed.
