Kings crush Blackhawks, Blues beaten


The St Louis Blues were unable to climb lone top of the Central Division in the NHL, while the Chicago Blackhawks were also beaten.

The Blues remain tied on points with the Dallas Stars after a 7-4 loss to the Calgary Flames on Monday.

Michael Frolik scored the last two goals of the game to complete his hat-trick for the Flames.

Sean Monahan and Johnny Gaudreau also had three points, with the latter's all coming thanks to assists.

The Blackhawks are three points adrift of the top two in Central after a 5-0 thrashing at the hands of the Los Angeles Kings.

Jonathan Quick was the hero for the Kings as the goaltender made 32 saves in his shutout.

Former Hawk Kris Versteeg, Milan Lucic, Vincent Lecavalier, Dustin Brown and Tyler Toffoli scored in the big win.

Jakob Silfverberg had four points including a hat-trick as the Anaheim Ducks thrashed the New Jersey Devils 7-1.

A James Neal hat-trick was all the Nashville Predators needed to edge past the Edmonton Oilers 3-2.

The New York Islanders struck three times in the third period to beat the Florida Panthers 3-2 and the Winnipeg Jets defeated the Vancouver Canucks 5-2.
