Racing 92 return to the top as Bordeaux batter Oyonnax

Racing 92 responded to last week's defeat against Castres by running in five tries in a 38-13 win over relegation-threatened Agen, return to the summit of the Top 14 on Saturday.

Racing were back on top form on Saturday with New Zealand great Dan Carter kicking 11 points against an Agen side that saw three players go in the sin bin.

Bernard Le Roux was the first to cross for Racing after Corentin Braendlin was shown a yellow card and, although George Tilsley's converted score brought Agen back into it, Virgile Lacombe then crossed for the hosts' second try.

Burton Francis split the posts twice for Agen either side of half-time to bring the score within four points, but Mike Tadjer and Claude Joly were also yellow carded either side of Lacombe's second try for Racing.

And from there Racing pulled away as Joe Rokocoko and Juandre Kruger added converted scores to complete the rout.

Adam Ashley-Cooper and Steven Kitshoff each scored twice as Bordeaux battered rock-bottom Oyonnax 48-20 at Stade Chaban-Delmas.

Hugh Chalmers, Peter Saili, and Felix Le Bourhis were also on the scoresheet during the comprehensive win.

There was late drama as Brive and Toulouse played out a 21-21 draw.

Luke McAlister levelled the scores for Toulouse with the final play of the game, giving Sebastien Bezy the chance to kick the winning conversion, but his effort under the posts was brilliantly charged down by an opportunistic Jean-Baptiste Pejoine.

In other matches, lowly Pau picked up a vital 19-12 win at home to Stade Francais, while Montpellier held off Castres in a 22-19 victory.
