Ducks win again, Lightning continue streak
The NHL's form team kept the good times rolling as the Anaheim Ducks strolled to a 10th-straight win as they dismantled the Arizona Coyotes 5-1.
Jamie McGinn, Rickard Rackell and Cam Fowler had the Ducks 3-0 up before the Coyotes could muster a response through Anthony Duclair, but it proved a mere consolation as Anaheim completed the rout through additional goals from Josh Manson and Corey Perry.
The Tampa Bay Lightning are on a hot streak of their own having notched up their eighth win in a row with a 4-1 triumph over the Ottawa Senators.
The two sides played out a scoreless first period before Cedric Paquette and Ondrej Palat had the Lightning 2-0 up by the end of the second period.
Nikita Kucherov scored Tampa Bay's third before Marc Methot scored the Senator's only goal only for Steven Stamkos to restore the visitors' three-goal lead.
The Boston Bruins made it six wins from 10 as they pulled off a solid 4-2 win over the Chicago Blackhawks, as Patrice Bergeron, Brad Marchland, Ryan Spooner and Loui Eriksson all got on the scoresheet.
The Minnesota Wild made it three wins in a row with their 2-1 win over the Toronto Maple Leafs, while the Edmonton Oilers proved a class above the Philadelphia Flyers in a 4-0 triumph.
Sidney Crosby fired home his 26th goal of the season as the Pittsburgh Penguins bead the New York Rangers 4-1, the Buffalo Sabres cruised to a 6-3 win over the Calgary Flames, while the Colorado Avalanche inflicted a 3-2 defeat over the Florida Panthers.
The New York Islanders got their 35th win of the season courtesy of Kyle Okposo's overtime winner in a 4-3 victory over the Winnipeg Jets, while the New Jersey Devils also needed overtime in their 5-4 win over the Nashville Predators.
Elsewhere, the San Jose Sharks managed a tight away victory against the Vancouver Canucks, winning 3-2, as the Los Angeles Kings enjoyed a 3-2 win of their own against the Montreal Canadiens with Dwight King scoring what proved the winner.
