Parramatta Eels second-rower Anthony Watmough has rubbished reports that a knee injury has prompted him to end his rugby league career.
The 32-year-old was reported to be considering retiring with immediate effect due to a serious knee problem that required surgery last July.
However, the former Manly Sea Eagles prop said that is not the case and he hopes to be back in action early in the NRL season.
"I have unfinished business in rugby league. I have not retired," he told the Nine Network.
"I'm hoping to return in a couple of weeks, but we''ll see how it responds."
Watmough joined the Eels from Manly, where he won two NRL Premiership titles, in 2015 and revealed last December that he feared his playing days could be over due to injury.
