Tuck announces retirement from NFL

Long-time New York Giants defensive end Justin Tuck has announced his retirement from football via Facebook.

Tuck spent the majority of his career at the Giants, where he started in 2005 as a third-round draft pick.

The 32-year-old won two Super Bowls with the Giants in 2008 and 2012, as well as making two Pro Bowls in an 11-year career.

He played his final two seasons with the Oakland Raiders, but made just five appearances in 2015-16 before being placed on the injured reserve list with a chest problem.

"Justin Tuck has been an invaluable part of the Raiders organization since the day he arrived here," general manager Reggie McKenzie said in a statement.

"Everyone in the building appreciates all that he has done both on and off the field. His leadership in the locker room and mentorship of young players like Khalil Mack is immeasurable.

"The Raiders wish him and his family the absolute best."
