World number one Novak Djokovic was the toast of Twitter following another successful Australian Open campaign in Melbourne.
Djokovic claimed a record-equalling sixth Australian Open title with a 6-1 7-5 7-6 (7-3) win over five-time runner-up Andy Murray on Sunday.
The Serb was a class above on Rod Laver Arena as he added an 11th grand slam title to his collection.
And a host of past and present athletes heaped praise on Djokovic, who moved within six of Roger Federer's record 17 majors.
"Congrats @DjokerNole on tying Roy Emerson with 6 #AusOpen titles! The standard you've set is incredible. I'm inspired. ?#11andcounting ?#peak" - former women's number one and 12-time grand slam champion Billie Jean King.
"Hail King Nole... 6 Australian Opens and, ominously, putting some distance on Muzz and Fed in the process ... now in a league of his own" - one-time Australian Open semi-finalist and sports administrator Paul McNamee.
"So unfortunate 4 @andy_murray that he plays at the same time as @rogerfederer @rafaelnadal & @DjokerNole. He deserves more but 2 good Nole" - retired Australian player Rennae Stubbs.
"Novak Djokovic joins Rod Laver & Bjorn Borg with 11 Grand Slam titles. A record 6 @AustralianOpen titles. Superb performance from Nole" - former player, coach and analyst Darren Cahill.
"Congrats @DjokerNole and his team on ?#AusOpen2016" - Serbia international basketballer Bogdan Bogdanovic.
"Oh man. Didn't think I could shed anymore tears watching @AustralianOpen and then Andy set me off again!" - British former player Anne Keothavong.
