Australia add Hastings to ODI squad

Victoria paceman John Hastings has been added to Australia's one-day international squad for game two of their series against India, replacing Mitchell Marsh.

Mitchell Marsh, 24, will be rested for the encounter in Brisbane on Friday as national selectors manage his workload.

Hastings has been added to the squad and could add to his 13 ODIs.

"In John Hastings we have a high-quality replacement, a player who has been in excellent form for the Melbourne Stars in the ongoing KFC Big Bash League [BBL]," national selector Rod Marsh said.

"John also showed his quality with a match-winning spell of 3-21 in the decisive one-day international of the series against England in Manchester in September, so we know what he can do if called upon."

Mitchell Marsh is set to play in the series opener in Perth on Tuesday and return for game three in Melbourne.
