Silly Dachshund's Attitude Toward Little Sister Is All Too Relatable

When you grow up and no longer live with your siblings, those years of arguments and annoyances magically disappear to the back of your mind. But if you spend a few days together again, you'll probably remember all the reasons you get on each other's nerves. It's only natural!

Even though sibling relationships are often some of the most loving out there, they can also be some of the most dramatic. As it turns out, even our furry friends can get testy with their siblings (littermate or not), and a pair of feisty Dachshunds are prepared to prove it.

On April 4, Winston, the wiener dog, had finally had enough of his little sister Willa. Luckily, their mom, Christina, was ready with the camera and a supervising eye.

Haha! These two don't mess around during playtime. It seems like Winston is taking out his anger on those dog toys (and the puppy on the other side of the toy), while Willa is just oblivious and happy to be involved. Both sides are completely relatable!

Commenter and Disney fan @cinderella5393 jokingly admitted that she's "telling my kids this is the live-action Lion King." LOL! The sibling rivalry is giving Scar and Mufasa vibes, but those who have welcomed home a second dog before know that it can be bumpy in the beginning. Everyone's getting used to a new dynamic in the home, and not all canines love sharing after being an only child for so long. The good news is that this will feel so much more comfortable as time goes on.

The other good sign is that both of these Dachshund dogs take turns being the instigator. Sometimes, it's Willa who's pouncing on her big brother, but other times, it's Winston winning a round of tug-of-war. These siblings may be jealous sometimes, but at least they know how to play fair!

Helping Older Dogs Feel Included

Welcoming home a new puppy can be such an exciting occasion, but it's OK if your older dog doesn't feel so thrilled yet. Adding four more paws to your home is a big adjustment for everyone, and it can be easy to focus so much on introducing your new puppy that you forget to lend your older dog a helping paw, too.

In reality, it takes just a few minutes to reassure your first dog about their spot in the home and in your heart. Whether it's going for a walk without the puppy, having a long cuddle in bed, or playing your older dog's favorite game, there's no wrong way to help them feel included. As your new pup grows up, your older dog just might ask them to play, and everyone will realize why two dogs can be better than one!
