Shocking video shows 'random, unprovoked attack' on elderly woman walking dog

This is the shocking moment an elderly woman was pushed to the ground in a seemingly unprovoked attack.

Video footage shows Susan Linnell and her dog walking along Windmill Road in Gillingham, Kent, shortly after 8.30pm on 6 August when a man was seen running towards her.

The clip, caught on camera by Linnell’s daughter Becky, appears to show the man appear to shove the woman to the ground without stopping.

He continues running as he flees the scene of the incident.

Footage from a Ring doorbell camera showed the man walking further down the road shortly after.

Kent Police are now investigating and are appealing for information in helping identify the suspect.

A spokesperson said: "We were called to a report that a woman had been assaulted by a man in Windmill Road, Gillingham.

"The victim was assessed by a paramedic, but did not require hospital treatment.

"The suspect is described as being white and in his late teens. He is reported to have been carrying a high visibility jacket and was last seen running down Longhill Avenue.”

No arrests have yet been made.
