Hurricane Idalia leaves flooding, storm surge after tearing through Florida's Gulf Coast and panhandle. Strong images showing the destruction and aftermath of this monster storm which made landfall as a Category 3 near Keaton Beach at 7:45 a.m. Wednesday, Aug. 30. The eyewall exited a little more than two hours later on its path to Georgia.

Cedar Key, on Florida's Gulf Coast, saw nearly seven feet of storm surge washing over the small island community Wednesday morning and areas along the west coast such as Tampa, St. Petersburg and Sarasota and Manatee counties were swamped with water. Videos from the areas showed flooded bridges, floating cars, wading residents and knee-high water rushing into doorways.
