'Security Goose' Refuses to Let Certain People Into Place of Business

Geese are so sweet. Geese are so cute. Geese are so gentle. Nope, that's seriously untrue. Or at least there's one goose online who really seems like they're no fun. The goose has been keeping visitors from entering the front of an office building. So much so that people are calling it a "security goose."

We just know that Bethany McDermed's friend was flummoxed when she first saw a certain sign on the front of the building. But she quickly got the picture.

She sent McDermed video of her trying to get in the building. But the sign would be enough to give everyone pause.

"Please text [redacted] if the goose won't let you enter. We will come get you," the sign read. Huh? Goose? What goose? Then McDermed's friend slowly panned her phone. Behind was the meanest looking goose we've ever seen. Did someone call security? This goose is about to ask to see her ID.

Honestly, it's a lot to take in. And the comments section doesn't blame McDermed's friend for being straight up unsure what to do. "He’s just standing there.. menacingly," joke done person. "Sorry can’t come into work today, there’s a mean goose outside," one account joked. "It looks like he isn’t letting you leave. Who do you call now??" another person pointed out. "Security goose [is greater than] silly goose," someone else teased.

Why Are Geese Aggressive?

Unfortunately this wasn't the first time in history when a goose has given off a "don't mess with me" vibe. In fact, geese sort of have a reputation for being aggressive. They've even been known to attack innocent golfers and people walking by.

Well there's a reason for all this bad behavior. And it's sort of bad news for us humans. Geese don't really like to share their space with us. They don't even like to share space with other animals. Male geese are very protective of their young and female geese. Especially when their eggs are being incubated. Males don't take their duties lightly, they'll do what they need to to ward off a threat. If anyone gets close to their nests they aren't afraid of getting aggressive and mean to get them to go away. They'll even patrol the area and honk, hiss, or get physically violent until the eggs have hatched.

It sort of makes you wonder if the goose in the video was a male being a little overly protective of his babies. They should check for a nest nearby! That would certainly answer the reason for the goose's attitude problems.
