Sad Dog's Tail Slowly Drops Every Time a Potential Adopter Leaves Her

Every shelter dog just wants a family that loves them. They're hoping that person is you. Take one dog in a shelter in Kennewick, Washington, who was so disappointed every time a potential adopter walked away from her kennel.

You can see how let down Kylie was in a heartbreaking video shared by Julie Saraceno.

It's just so sad. It seems like every time a person passed Kylie over, she got her hopes up so high. In the video, it shows one such person leaving Kylie's enclosure. You can see that the dog was so happy to see the human — her tail was high and wagging so fast. But after they left the pup's tail noticeably drooped. Which is just so, so sad.

"The saddest thing I've seen at the animal shelter," Saraceno wrote in the caption. "Knowing how sad Kylie is every time she gets a visit from a potential adopter who ends up leaving her," she added.

Saraceno wasn't the only person who was heartbroken. "Her tail going from wagging to slowly dropping breaks my heart. Someone give Kylie a chance, she’s a sweet girl who deserves a loving family and home," begged one person. "I just don’t get it. Why hasn’t anyone taken her home? It just breaks my heart," someone else added. "Somebody please give that beautiful baby a home, give her a chance please," a third commenter begged.

Ways to Help Benton Franklin Humane Society

Kylie is just one of many dogs who are currently being cared for by the Benton Franklin Humane Society. And they all need your help! There are many ways to help animal shelters and some of them are totally hands-on.

Volunteering is a way to help Benton Franklin Humane and get some one-on-one time with the animals too! The shelter is looking for help with cat and dog enrichment and kennel assistants. That means helping out with walks, handling cats and kittens, cleaning the enclosures, and doing dishes, and laundry.

Providing outreach is another way you can help the shelter. This involves educating the public and attending events to provide information. You can also help out with offsite adoptions, which can be satisfying in its own way. You'll actually see animals find their fur-ever home. If you're more into admin, there are opportunities to work in the office too!

It doesn't matter how you want to help, just that you do some good. And of course fostering or adopting. That's another way to make a needy animal's day.
