Rio Ferdinand says he has "never seen" Victoria Beckham "eat anything" after being asked about her diet.

The former footballer, 44, was questioned on an Australian radio show about his friendship with the fashion designer, 48.

Speaking on Kyle and Jackie O, the star shared how he would sometimes dine with the ex-Spice Girl and her husband, his fellow ex-England teammate David Beckham, 47, between training sessions.

Jackie 'O' Henderson, one of the co-hosts, said she was "obsessed" with Victoria's diet because it was previously revealed the pop star was strict at mealtimes.

O'Henderson asked: "Was she nice?"

The sports pundit confirmed: "Yeah, she is nice."

Kyle Sandilands, the other co-host, joked: "You can't be asking a player about another soccer player's wife!"

It comes after David told iHeart's River Cafe Table 4 podcast in February 2022 that his wife has "eaten the same thing for the last 25 years".

He said: "Since I met Victoria, she only eats grilled fish, steamed vegetables. She will very rarely deviate away from there."

In July of last year, the mother-of-four defended her dietary choices to Vogue Australia, accusing her other half of making her sound "boring".

The star insisted: "What he meant is that he's never met anyone who's more disciplined with the way that they eat."

She added: "I'm quite extreme in anything I do, whether it's eating or working out or drinking or not drinking."
