Restless Puppy Keeps His Sleepy Sister Awake With His Adorable Bedtime Antics

The only thing worse than being woken up too early is being woken up before you've actually fallen asleep to begin with. Right when you're getting comfortable, something just has to interrupt you. We've all been there--even puppies like Harper!

This sweet little girl was just trying to get her beauty rest, but her restless brother Newton wasn't ready to let that happen. In a priceless May 1 TikTok video, the sassy guy kept her awake for much longer than she would've liked! She was such a good sport about it, though, and in the end, their foster mom captured the most adorable video.Take a look!

Aww! Poor little Harper is just so sleepy! She's already nodding off on the comfy bed--not even a dog bed, I might add--but her brother Newton has other plans. He would much rather play, but that can be difficult when your playmate is sound asleep. Like a typical pesky brother, though Newton thought he could simply change that for himself.

Once the foster puppy fluffed up his favorite spot, he climbed into bed and snuggled in closer to Harper. If your heart didn't melt a little bit while watching that--you're totally lying! The way his tiny ear fell on top of her head was so genuine and precious, but I have a feeling this is only the beginning of the cuddles for these adorable dog siblings.

As it turns out, these little cuties are nearing the end of their time in foster care. They will soon be ready to join their families in their soon-to-be forever homes, and it's a bittersweet occasion for everyone. They've spent several weeks with foster mom Diem, but moving on to forever homes means that everyone has done their job correctly.

Whether or Not to Keep Puppy Siblings Together

Many viewers have been quick to comment that Newton and Harper should be adopted into the same home so they don't have to miss one another, but others hope that this loving foster owner takes at least one of them. Most likely, though, they will each be adopted individually--and not by Diem. She's a seasoned dog foster owner, and her mission is still to help as foster and rescue dogs as she can.

Sometimes, littermate puppies who are adopted together experience something called littermate syndrome. When this happens, these siblings will begin to compete (or think they're competing) for food, water, toys, and even an owner's attention. It can lead to aggression if not addressed, but it's also not the dogs' fault. Every individual pup will develop their own relationship with other dogs, including their littermates, so many dog siblings grow up together without a problem in the world.
