Rebekah Vardy says she and Coleen Rooney could end Wagatha Christie feud in the new year

The Wagatha Christie saga involving bitter rivals Rebekah Vardy and Coleen Rooney could finally be resolved in the new year.

Vardy has said that she thinks everyone is probably sick of hearing about their row, and that early 2021 might be the time that the libel battle is over.

In an interview with Hello!, Vardy said: "The new year could potentially see a resolution between us. I'm pretty sure the public are sick of reading about it, too."

The two footballers’ wives have been battling it out since Rooney accused Vardy of leaking false stories about her to the media.

Vardy denies the claims and is suing Rooney for libel.

The spat was dubbed Wagatha Christie because of Rooney’s amateur sleuthing work in trying to track down who had been leaking stories about her.

She posted a lengthy tweet detailing the fake stories she’d planted to work out the leak and how she had gone about narrowing down the suspects, ending with the now-infamous line: “It’s...Rebekah Vardy’s account.”

Vardy is set to take part in the new series of Dancing On Ice and talked to the magazine abut enjoying Christmas at home with her family - husband Jamie Vardy and their five children - in the run up to the show starting.

She revealed that the reason she loves Christmas decorations so much is because she is trying to make up for the missed years of festivities from her childhood as a Jehovah’s Witness.

Talking about her childhood, she said: "I wasn't allowed to celebrate Christmas or go to birthday parties, to attend school assemblies – the list goes on. On Christmas Day, I had to join the church elders to knock on people's doors and try to convert them.

"I feel like I missed out on so many precious times.”
