Prue Leith speaks out about rumours she’s quitting Bake Off

Prue Leith has denied she is quitting The Great British Bake Off, saying the rumours are "not true at all".
The cook, 84, has been a judge on the Channel 4 programme since 2017 but there have been rumours about her stepping back. It came up on ITV's This Morning, with hosts Cat Deeley and Ben Shephard mentioning all the speculation.
However, Leith set the record straight, explaining that she would continue as a judge on the main show.
What, how, and why?
She opened up after Shephard asked: "We need to put these rumours to bed - what is the truth?"
"Absolutely not true at all," laughed Leith, who judges bakers alongside Paul Hollywood.
"I'm still doing the Great American Baking Show. I'm still doing the Great British Bake Off, the two main shows of Bake Off. What I'm not doing this year is the celebrity one.
"And it's mainly because these things are filmed back to back the whole way through the summer. So you start in April and you end at the end of August and honestly, you get no time off, and so I'm getting a bit old and there are places I want to go to. And other things I want to do."
Shephard pointed out that Leith had done the most recent version of Celebrity Bake Off, which his fellow This Morning presenter Dermot O’Leary took part in. And he joked that she had “peaked” once O’Leary had done it.
Laughing, she replied: “I don't think so much that!”
“I am in this year's celebrity ones that we see now,” she went on. “But I won't be by next year.”
What else did Prue Leith say?
Leith also had kind words for This Morning’s Alison Hammond, who is also a presenter on Bake Off, saying she was “such fun”.
But she teased that Hammond needed to learn to cook something other than brownies.
“Do you know, Alison has now made the brownies on television so often,” she said. “I think it's high time she learned to make something else!”
