Precious Pittie Mix Needs a Hospice Foster To Spend Her Final Days with Love
When you bring a dog into your life, you do so knowing that one day your heart will completely shatter. Author Agnes Sligh Turnbull once said, " "Dogs' lives are too short. Their only fault, really." No one wants to think about their dog, or any dog dying, but that's what is going to happen to this sweet Pittie mix named Cleopatra out of Austin, Texas.
Cleopatra is not only an older dog at ten years, but she also has kidney failure. She deserves to spend whatever time she has left in a home with a family who will give her all the love, affection and care she needs for however long she has left. Just look at this beautiful dog.

All About Cleopatra
You would think having a special needs dog like Cleopatra would be extra work, but she's very easy to care for and the medical team at Austin Pets Alive! will teach you everything you need to know to make sure she is happy and healthy.
Cleopatra has had sleepovers with shelter volunteers and here are just some of the things they have said about her.
She's an absolute sweetheart with other people. She trusts humans very quickly and if they give her neck scratches, she will follow them around everywhere.
She LOVES people! She wants to be close to her humans as much as possible and will rest her head in your lap if you let her.
She is very non-reactive and doesn't even bark at delivery people even though she could see them through the windows and glass door.
She just deserves so much love, care and beautiful memories before she leaves this world. She just sounds like she'd be the most wonderful companion for someone and it's heartbreaking to think of her not doing well in the shelter. If you are in Austin, or know anyone in Austin, please encourage them to give this sweet girl a chance.
Once again, she's located in Austin, Texas and here's all the information you need to meet Cleopatra: This pup is currently located at our Town Lake Animal Center (1156 W. Cesar Chavez, but use 1200 Reserve Road for mapping purposes). We'd love to show them off to you! To learn more about them, head in any day between 12:00PM - 6:00PM. We are open 7 days a week! Go to Building B and ask to speak with a Matchmaker about fostering this pup. You will sit down and discuss all we know about them and, if it's a good fit, get to meet them then! Please budget for a wait time unless you arrive right at opening as we cannot dictate walk-in traffic (wait times tend to be highest in the evenings and on weekends). If this pup ends up not being the best fit, we have so many other pups in need that we can suggest for your household on the spot!
