Updated

Despite 2020's challenging circumstances, the BBC’s Strictly Come Dancing was able to grace our screens against once more - and thank goodness for that.

After eight exciting weeks the dance competition is finally coming to a close in Saturday's finale.

Bill Bailey, Maisie Smith, HRVY or Jamie Laing all stand a chance of lifting the Glitterball trophy as the final four but no doubt viewers have their favourites they are backing for victory.

It's been a hugely strong season with a high standard among the competitors, so it's far too close to call just yet.

Vote: Who do you think should win Strictly 2020?

Smith had a tough time midway through the competition when she found herself in the dance-off twice despite decent scores from the judges.

However, the EastEnders star went from strength to strength and scored almost full marks for the two dances she performed on the penultimate show with professional partner Gorka Marquez.

Meanwhile, comedian Bailey began as something of an outsider but went on to prove he is a serious contender.

His and Oti Mabuse's Couple's Choice dance to Rapper's Delight was a sensation and he hasn't found himself in the bottom so far, meaning the fans are certainly behind him.

Elsewhere Laing hasn't fared quite as successfully, having to battle it out with dancer Karen Hauer in four of the seven dance-offs.

He's danced dangerously close to the edge, but considering his success in staying so far could he pull it off?

HRVY is another star who has managed to steer clear of the dreaded bottom two and has brought a high-standard of dance almost week-in week-out and was the first to get the perfect 30 score.

The notoriously difficult Rumba saw him score an uncharacteristically low mark last week, but all-in-all he has been one of the most consistent.

The young singer has also evidently got plenty of fans behind him too.

When it comes to the odds, it looks like a two-horse race between Bailey and HRVY, with the comedian at 8/11 and his competition at 7/4 according to bookmakers William Hill.

Smith’s odds stand at 6/1 while it doesn’t look likely for Laing at 66/1.

Each contestant will dance three routines on Saturday, their own couple's favourite, a Judges' Pick and a Showdance.

While in the weeks leading up the final the judges' scores have an impacted the overall result, as usual in the finale they will be for reference only as viewers have the final say with their votes.

Strictly Come Dancing concludes tomorrow night at 6pm on BBC One.
