Man arrested after child found dead at property in Leicester
A 33-year-old man has been arrested after a child was found dead at a house in Leicester.
Police were called by paramedics after the infant was found unresponsive at a property in the Glenfield area of the city, at 8am on Thursday morning.
A 33-year-old man has been arrested in connection with the incident.
He has since been released on bail.
Leicestershire Police said the child's death is currently being treated as unexplained and enquiries are ongoing.
Detective Inspector Henry Henderson said: "This is an extremely sad incident involving the death of an infant at a property.
"As part of our initial enquiries, a man was arrested in connection with the incident and has since been released on bail.
"Our investigation is continuing."
