While it may seem that practically everyone has an air fryer in their kitchen nowadays, the gadget trend is showing no sign of slowing down. Major brands are now striving to enhance the current options on the market with new, innovative features that aim to make our lives even easier. From flexible drawers with a removable divider for larger capacities, to easy-to-use displays and additional cooking modes, the list of features now available is extensive.

Which brings us onto the latest launch we've spotted from electronics giant, Philips. New for 2024, the brand has just launched the Philips Airfryer 3000 Series Dual Basket — its first-ever dual zone air fryer.

Designed with two cooking baskets, synchronised cooking technologies and various presets, this all-new air fryer comes in a sleek gold and black colourway and is currently available at John Lewis and Currys at a special introductory price of just £139.99. Usually retailing for £179.99, this is far cheaper than other similar nine-litre dual air fryers out there right now, for example Ninja's usually retails for £249.99.

Eight cooking modes, synchronised drawers and a combined nine litre capacity, say hello to Philips first-ever dual zone air fryer.

Why we rate it

First off, it looks the part. Featuring a streamlined design, it comes with two cooking baskets, boasting a six and three litre zone. With a combined capacity of nine litres, it's ideal for cooking family-sized mains in one drawer, and sides or one-person meals in the other.

The additional space in the larger drawer means you can cook a variety of larger foods that wouldn't normally fit in a traditional air fryer, providing you with endless cooking options. Typically, a dual air fryer has two equally-sized drawers, which, for a nine-litre capacity, would be four and a half litres per drawer. Therefore, the innovative six-litre drawer offers additional practicality and the best of both worlds.

Not only that, but cooking times are automatically synchronised in both drawers, allowing you to serve two different foods simultaneously. That's right, no more waiting around for something to cook while everything else burns!

The touch-screen display, situated on the top of the air fryer, comes with eight easy-to-use preset cooking modes and customisable features that take the guesswork out of cooking.

The eight preset modes that make cooking easy:

  1. Fresh fries

  2. Frozen fries

  3. Chicken

  4. Meat

  5. Veggies

  6. Fish

  7. Cake

  8. Reheat

The bonus of having the display on the top of the air fryer, rather than on the front face of it like most options, means it'll likely get less dirty from the excess moisture and splashes of food that might spit out when opening and closing the cooking drawers.

For recipe inspo, Philips has gone that extra mile by offering a range of recipes tailor-made for the 3000 Series Dual Air Fryer on its NutriU recipe app, which you can download on your mobile to gain access to the recipes, step-by-step guidance and more specifics on the dual basket settings.

As it has just launched, it's yet to receive any reviews. But at this price we're confident it won't take long before they come flooding in. Plus, if Philips previous air fryers are anything to go by, this will no-doubt follow suit.
