Paul Chuckle starts crowdfund campaign for 'Chucklevision' reboot after death of brother Barry

Chuckle Brothers star Paul Chuckle has started a crowdfunding campaign to reboot Chucklevision, his hit TV show with his late brother Barry.

The 73-year-old children's TV star, whose real name is Paul Elliott, wants to make a Chuckle Brothers cartoon called ChucklesWorld, and is seeking help to fund a pilot episode.

Paul told The Sun: “With the sad passing of Barry, fans asked if there could be a way of seeing a version of Chucklevision.

“The only possible way would be a cartoon. As such, if anyone had a little spare money, we’re trying to fund a short cartoon pilot.”

Barry Chuckle, real name Barry Elliott, died at the age of 73 in August 2018.

It is understood his voice would feature in the cartoon.

Fans who donate £2,500 towards the £12,000 target will be rewarded by getting a character in the show named after them.

Paul told fans in a video on Crowdfunder: "This is a very special message to you – not to me – to you.

"Thanks for getting involved in getting the Chuckle Brothers back on TV. Virtual hugs and no slacking!"

So far the campaign has raised £615.

The deadline for the £12,000 target is set for 21 June and Paul hopes to have the pilot ready for a preview screening by 31 October.

Paul and Barry rose to fame in ChuckleVision, a BBC children's programme that ran for 21 series from 1987 until 2009.

The brothers were known for their slapstick comedy and their famous catchphrase "To me, to you".
