Owen Wilson 'has never met' one-year-old daughter Lyla

Owen Wilson has never met his one-year-old daughter Lyla, according to her mother Varunie Vongsvirates.

She's said the 50-year-old hasn't been "at all" involved in the tot's life after she was born in October last year, although does provide financial assistance.

Vongsvirates, 35, told the Daily Mail: "Owen has never met Lyla. Never. He helps financially but it's never been about that.

"Lyla needs a father. It's ironic how [Owen] keeps getting these father roles, he's playing a father in his new movie, and he's never met his own daughter."

Her comments come as Wilson played an expectant dad in 2017 film, Father Figures and featured as a father in Wonder in the same year. He also has three new films set for release next year.

Vongsvirates casually dated the actor for five years before their split, with the Marley and Me star reportedly undergoing a paternity test last year which determined he was the father.

A source told US Weekly last year that Wilson "does not want to visit [and does not] want any custody of her".

Wilson is also father to Ford, eight, whom he shares with ex-girlfriend Jade Duell and Finn, five, whose mother is fitness trainer Caroline Lindqvist.

He's previously spoken about his relationship with his sons and the relationship they share with each other.

“Sometimes it feels like I’m already seeing how they’re gonna be as teenagers,” he told presenter Ellen Degeneres on her US chat show. “Where they’re gonna be ganging up on me.”
