It is one week since mother-of-two Nicola Bulley went missing while walking her dog along a river in Lancashire.

Police have said their “main working hypothesis” is that she fell into the River Wyre and that “this is not suspicious but a tragic case of a missing person”.

The 45-year-old mortgage adviser, from Inskip, disappeared last Friday morning near the River Wyre in the village of St Michael’s on Wyre.

She had just dropped her two daughters, aged six and nine, at school.

Seven days after her disappearance, her partner made a renewed appeal in a television interview.

Paul Ansell, 44, said on Friday: “We’re never going to lose hope, but it is as though she has vanished into thin air. It’s just insane. My whole focus is my two girls, just staying as strong as I can for them.

“I’m scared that if I put focus into anything else it’s going to take my focus off that.

Mr Ansell, an engineer, thanked the community for their support in the search for Ms Bulley.

“It’s the only thing that we can take (from the situation) is that the level of support is out of this world," he said.

One week after her disappearance, Lancashire Police have pieced together what happened in the hour before she went missing.
