The Prince of Wales is hosting a Buckingham Palace Garden Party on behalf of his father, the King.

Prince William invited his cousins, Princess Beatrice, Princess Eugenie, Peter Philips and Zara Tindall, to join him at the event, as well as Zara’s husband, Mike Tindall.

The young royals mingled with guests on the soggy lawn as they shielded from the rain under umbrellas.

The King and Queen, who have attended two garden parties this month, were not present.

The Prince was due to meet representatives from a number of his and his wife’s patronages, military affiliations and personal interests.

Guests included those from Homewards, William’s homelessness initiative, RAF Valley, where he worked as a search and rescue pilot, Swim England, of which he is patron, and tenants across Duchy of Cornwall sites.

The Princess of Wales did not attend as she remains out of the public eye while she continues her cancer treatment.
