Vehicle slams into US police station lobby

A 24-year-old was arrested and charged with attempted murder and other crimes after he drove a vehicle into a police station in Havre de Grace, Maryland.

Shocking footage shows a vehicle driving through two sets of doors and across the lobby of the police station.

Police identified the driver as Timothy Kahl, 24, who had called and made threats against police earlier in the day.

Kahl was charged with two counts of attempted first-degree murder, two counts of assault in the first degree, reckless endangerment, and three counts of malicious destruction of property, police said.

According to police, officers went to Kahl’s residence after the threatening call was received and “located the subject driving erratically.”

He struck several parked vehicles and tried to run over the officers before fleeing the area.

Kahl then drove to the Havre de Grace Police Department, where he struck another parked car.

After colliding with this vehicle, Kahl then intentionally drove his car into the front doors of the police station and into the lobby.

Police said no officers or police staff were injured during the incident but the department building “sustained severe damage.”
