Toddler, 3, is rescued from Merseyside lake

A toddler, aged three, was rescued from a lake in Merseyside after wandering away from a nearby home.

The child plunged into the lake near Shirebrook Close in Thatto Heath at about 2.10pm on Saturday afternoon.

Officers rushed to her rescue about 10 minutes later and provided CPR.

Paramedics and an air ambulance were on the scene.

The girl was taken to Alder Hey Children’s Hospital in Liverpool.

Her family are with her in hospital, according to police.
