Tesco (TSCO.L) shoppers will be able to claim double Clubcard points on their shops for the next seven weeks, the UK retailer has announced.

From Monday 8 January until Sunday 25 February, Tesco Clubcard shoppers will earn double points every time they shop, fill up at Tesco petrol stations, or visit a Tesco café. To get the double points, customers only need to scan their Clubcard at the tills, or make sure the Clubcard is linked to their Tesco account if shopping online.

Clubcard members usually get one point for each £1 spent at Tesco, but under this campaign each pound spent will be worth two Clubcard points.

The move will allow customers to double the value of rewards with more than 100 Clubcard partners including Disney+ (DIS), Pizza Express and Hotels.com.

Tesco chief commercial officer, Ashwin Prasad, said: “Many of us could do with a little boost in January so we are delighted to bring over 20 million Clubcard members the added joy of double points for the next seven weeks.

"It’s the best value at Tesco with some extra on top! Whether you want to save up your Clubcard points to use towards a special moment like a holiday or simply for money off your shopping or fuel, it’s our extra thank you to Tesco Clubcard members for shopping with us."

This is the first time the supermarket has offered a double points event like this in over a decade, with over 20 million Tesco Clubcard members set to benefit.

Points will not be awarded for non-qualifying products, including tobacco or tobacco related products, lottery, stamps, prescription medicines, infant formula milk, gift cards, saving stamps, in-store concessions and for some purchases of alcohol in Northern Ireland.
