Taylor Swift teases 'timetable' for highly-anticipated album The Tortured Poets Department
Taylor Swift has unveiled the ‘timetable’ for her much-awaited new album, The Tortured Poets Department, on Friday, April 19.
And now the singer, who is known for surprising her fans with Easter Eggs, has sparked a frenzy among Swifties as she teased a promo video for the album on Wednesday on Instagram.
The clip kicked off in a '70s-themed room, evoking memories of Swift's previous album, Midnights. Inside the room, scattered bits of crumpled paper adorned the floor alongside a collection of records, with a clock prominently displaying the time as 2 o'clock.
The camera then guided viewers down a white corridor, eventually revealing a room labelled, The Tortured Poets Department.
Within the room, empty white desks adorned with typewriters and coffee cups were visible, before the camera zoomed in on a bulletin board mounted against the wall.
Highlighted on the board was the date April 19, accompanied by the words, “The Tortured Poets Department Release Day”, and underneath a note read, “8 p.m. ET. Music video release!!” alongside fourteen slashes alluding to 14 tracks on her 11th studio album.
Captioning the post, she penned: “The TTPD Timetable.”
The social media teaser comes after Lloyds Bank issued a warning to UK Swifties, revealing that more than £1 million could already have been lost to fraudsters pretending to be selling tickets for her concerts.
The figures were based on analysis of purchase scams reported by customers of Lloyds Bank, Halifax and Bank of Scotland, where Swift and/or the Eras Tour were referenced as part of the claim, between July 2023 and March 2024.
The average amount lost by each victim was £332, though in some cases the loss was more than £1,000, Lloyds said.
As the figures are based solely on Lloyds Bank’s own customer data, it estimates that, across the UK, there are likely to have been at least 3,000 victims since tickets went on sale, with more than £1 million being lost to fraudsters so far.
The calculation is based on Lloyd Banking Group’s current account market share and assumes similar trends across customers of other UK banks.
The Eras Tour will kick off on 7 June in Edinburgh and wrap up on 20 August in London - where the global star is playing eight shows at Wembley stadium. The 15 date tour has long been sold out.
Fans aged 25 to 34 who are trying to get their hands on sold-out tickets are most likely to be targeted, with many scams originating on social media, Lloyds warned.
