Star Wars' Liam Neeson says many spin-offs are "diluting" the franchise
Star Wars actor Liam Neeson has said that the many spin-off TV series are "diluting" the franchise, in his opinion.
Last year, Neeson, who played Obi-Wan Kenobi's mentor Qui-Gon Jinn in Star Wars: The Phantom Menace, made a brief cameo appearance in the last episode of spin-off series Obi-Wan Kenobi.
But the Qui-Gon Jinn star seems to have ruled out the possibility of his own series saying that the spin-offs have "taken away" the franchise's "magic".

When asked in an interview with Andy Cohen for Watch What Happens Live if he was interested in doing his own spin-off series on Disney+, Neeson replied: "No I'm not. There's so many spin-offs of Star Wars. It's diluting it to me, and it's taken away the mystery and the magic in a weird way."
Speaking of the surprise cameo appearance he made at the end of Obi-Wan Kenobi, Neeson said it was "nice" to reprise the role and to star alongside Ewan McGregor after over two decades away: "It was nice to do a little bit with Ewan after 25 years, 24 years."
Turning to Ant-Man star Paul Rudd who was also appearing as a guest on the late night talk show, Neeson explained that he loved appearing on the very last episode of Obi-Wan Kenobi but that he wasn't interested in reprising the role again.

"I did a TV version, I appeared in the last episode, I had two lines to say, two lines, and that was cool, I loved doing that, but that's it, yeah," he said to Rudd.
The actor previously revealed why he had taken on the role once more saying: "I certainly didn't want anyone else playing Qui-Gon Jinn, and I wanted to show my respect for George [Lucas] and that mythical world that he created."
Obi-Wan Kenobi is streaming on Disney+. Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker and the entire Skywalker Saga are available on DVD, Blu-ray and 4K now, as well as on Disney+.
