A performer placed his head inside a crocodile’s mouth on the day a renowned Thai zoo reopened for the first time in four years.

Samutprakarn Crocodile Farm and Zoo, in Samut Prakan province, reopened to tourists on Monday following a temporary closure in 2020 due to the Covid-19 pandemic, the losses from which caused it to go into liquidation the following year.

The site, established in 1950, is claimed to be Thailand’s first and the world’s largest crocodile farm, with more than 60,000 freshwater and marine crocodiles. It is also home to other animals, including tigers and chimpanzees.

Performers regularly stage shows in the crocodile area, performing stunts including sticking their various body parts inside the jaws of one of the reptiles.
