  • With one Michelin star and three AA rosettes, it may not come as a surprise that Adam's in Birmingham has been rated the best restaurant in the UK and the fourth best in the world. This British fine dining restaurant boasts an intimate eating area which serves just 25 people at a time. This year the restaurant the fourth restaurant in Birmingham to receive a Michelin star. It also ranks in TripAdvisor's top five restaurants in the world.
  • This two-Michelin starred eatery is also a hotel. Visitors to Restaurant Sat Bains have three options when it comes to where they want to eat. They can sit in the restaurant, at the Chef's Table or at the Kitchen Bench. The latter two options give diners an insight into the inner workings of the kitchens as they watch the chefs prepare their food.
  • Raymond Blanc opened Le Manoir Aux Quat' Saisons in 1984, just seven years after he and his wife opened their first restaurant. The restaurant comes with a two-acre kitchen garden which produces 90 types of vegetable and 70 varieties of herb, this means the staff always make the most of the fresh ingredients.

  • L'Enclume offers the perfect pit stop for those enjoying the beauty of the English Lake District. Nestled on the rriverside in the idyllic village of Cartmel in Cumbria, L'Enclume is Simon Rogan's flagship restaurant and it currently holds two Michelin stars. The chef also works with Claridges Restaurant in London.
  • Midsummer House is located in a historic Victorian villa on the banks of the River Cam, on Midsummer Common. The proximity to the river means the restaurant is a hive of activity all year round. Midsummer House also boasts two Michelin stars the first having been granted in 2002 followed by another in 2005. 
  • Found in the quaint market town of Bury St. Edmunds, Maison Bleue Restaurant has moved up two places in this year's Traveller's Choice awards. The restaurant specialises in fish and quality award-winning French cuisine. 
  • Le Gavroche was the first UK restaurant to be granted one, two and three Michelin stars and is now run by famous chef Michel Roux Jr who took over from his father, Albert in 1991. For an exclusive experience, this restaurant also has an area called the 'Chef's Library' which has space to seat up to six people and has a six-course menu that changes daily.
  • Rising star Ryan Blackburn started the Old Stamp House Restaurant with his brother Craig and the pair are bringing a unique dining experience to Ambleside. The pair source local ingredients to bring the flavours of the area to the table. 
  • Restaurant Martin Wishart opened in 1999 and can be found in the historic Port of Leith in Edinburgh. The restaurant's first Michelin star was awarded in 2001 and the accolade has been repeated every year since then. 
  • The Clink Restaurant at HMP Cardiff is run and staffed by prisoners who are working towards qualifications in hospitality and catering. This alternative dining experience is run by the Clink Charity and is done so with the aim of reducing the reoffending rates of those leaving prison.
