  • Part of a luxurious Italian group, the Baglioni on Hyde Park Gate in Kensington offers two-night pre-birth packages, including in-room check-in accompanied by fruity drinks, a gift and one-hour in-room massage for the mum-to-be, and 10 per cent discounts in the hotel's restaurants and in La Perla boutique nearby. Guests also get a special consultation on baby meals and recipes with the hotel chefs.

  • This exclusive Georgian country house hotel has everything a princess could want, right down to the croquet lawn and helicopter landing pad.   • Yoga Jeannie (www.yogajeannie.com) uses historic houses including Tilton House in East Sussex (pictured), as peaceful retreats. Instructor Jean Hall hosts the weekends, which include seven yoga classes over three days, allowing mums-to-be to fully immerse themselves in her yoga techniques.

The hotel's Babymoon experience is a two night stay that includes a 60-minute REN spa treatment for mum, whilst dad can relax in the bar with a book from the Library or enjoy a spa treatment of his own.
