  • The Mamanucas, a chain of 20 islands, are famed for their spectacular beauty - which is why they have been used as TV and film locations for decades. Activities abound here, from dolphin watching to windsurfing, and you'll also find some of the best surf breaks in the world.
  • Fiji's second largest island is slightly less touristy than the busiest, Viti Levu. Wasali Nature Reserve, with its untouched rainforest, offers spectacular hiking trails and the coral diving here is second to none.
  • The Garden of the Sleeping Giant is one of the best kept horticultural secrets in the South Pacific. Here you'll find more than 2000 varieties of magnificent Asian orchids and hybrids and it's a wonderful spot to spend a day. Wander along the canopy covered boardwalk, across lily ponds with trickling fountains and into the heart of a dense rainforest.
  • With its white sandy beaches and crystal clear waters, Mana island is a hidden paradise in the heart of the Mamanuca group of islands. Stay at the Mana Resort and Spa, where activities range from grass skirt making to bush walks and you're entertained every night by spirited Fijian mekes, dances and island choirs.
  • Fiji is the 'Soft Coral Capital of the world,home to a network of coral reefs surrounding its 333 islands and atolls. More than 1000 species of fish and several hundred types of coral and sponges mean that Fiji offers a unique diving experience.

  • Visit the Bouma National Heritage Park on the island of Taveuni. Known as Fiji's Garden of Eden, this protected rainforest is alive with natural waterslides, rare plantlife and preehistoric tree ferns. The Tavoro Waterfalls, which cascade into a turquoise pool below, are not to be missed.
  • The windswept Sigatoka Dunes, one of Fiji's natural highlights, have been forming over millions of years. Archaeological excavations here have uncovered pottery from more than 2,600 years, as well as one of the largest burial sites in the Pacific.
