- (Original Caption) LAS VEGAS, NEV.: Foreign and domestic newsmen gather around Elvis Presley during an August 1st press conference following his July 31st opening at the International Hotel in Las Vegas, Nevada. "I'm really glad to be back in front of a live audience," Presley told about 150 members of the press. "I don't think I've ever been more excited than I was tonight." Elvis, performing public for the first time in nine years, got four standing ovations during the show.
