Well here's your chance to enjoy some guilt-free me time, because the Disney Cruise Line ships have fantastic kids' clubs with all sorts of activities for ages 3 months to 17 (including a cool space for moody teenagers to hang out and make friends). For you there's an adults only pool and bar area, plus a heavenly spa – and if you're in the mood for partying after dinner, nightclubs and bars (the kids' clubs stay open until midnight). And if you're taking the Bahamas cruise, which docks at Castaway Cay (Disney's very own island), then you'll find an adults-only beach at Serenity Bay. There are even massage cabanas. Just saying.

No problem – there are loads of opportunities to have fun on the cruise as a family. Swim, watch the Broadway-style shows, play mini-golf, see a movie, meet characters and of course enjoy amazing meals – you'll never run out of things to do. And even if your kids do want to spend time in the clubs, you'll still get to spend lots of quality time together.

With two pools to choose from, including one shaped like Mickey Mouse, you'll probably have trouble persuading them to get out of the water. And then there are the water slides... Luckily there's a constant supply of fresh dry towels.

From basketball to chess, there are plenty of activities for them on deck (and on dry land when the ship docks), and the kids' clubs will keep them busy too. Although if you're sailing on the Disney Dream or Disney Fantasy we think they'll find it hard to resist the Aqua Duck water slide...

There is LOADS to do on a Disney cruise – sports simulators, countless kids’ club activities, cooking lessons, wine tasting, shuffleboard tournaments, jogging, ping-pong, game shows, karaoke… you may have difficulty fitting everything in.  And then there's Disney's Castaway Cay where you can go kayaking and jetskiing. The water is so warm, clear and safe, which makes it the perfect opportunity to try snorkelling too. You can also get up close and personal with stingray, and swim with dolphins at Nassau. Or simply float around. Or build sandcastles. Your choice.

Relax, dude - there’s plenty of space to chill out, including screenings, sun decks and pools… you don’t have to move a muscle and you still won’t get bored…

Then you’ll definitely have a good time, because in addition to deck parties and fireworks there are amazing shows every night in the stunning theatre (it’s huge).

Alright Grumpy - no one is going to force you to join in with anything, unless you want to. If you want to escape the crowds, there are plenty of spaces to do so!

Book a table at the adults-only fine dining restaurant Palo (you can leave the kids in the clubs while you have dinner - the staff give you a special buzzer to alert you if they need you). The food is Northern Italian and it's incredible, particularly the anti pasti. They also do a fabulous brunch, too (this is not the time to diet).

There are plenty of options for casual dining if you like to keep things simple and to satisfy even the fussiest eater, including lavish buffets. The good thing about the majority of the Disney cruise restaurants is that you can go 'cruise casual' for dinner – just no swimwear, shorts, t-shirts or jeans. And the 'rotational dining system' means you get to eat in different restaurants every night of your cruise – including the Animator's Palate (get it), where the walls actually change colour while you eat.

OK, well there's really no need to buy anything on board – unless you forget your swimsuit or a toothbrush, of course. All your food is included in your cruise (including snacks) – you only pay for your drinks and tips, which you can do at the beginning or end of your cruise.

Oh you're in for a real treat, because there are some lovely stores on board the Disney Cruise, including fashion and gift boutiques. Plus if you're taking the Bahamas cruise, there are souvenir shops at Castaway Cay and lots of duty-free shops at Nassau. Bring an extra suitcase.

From the Sailaway Celebration Party to the Pirates In the Caribbean deck party and fireworks on board the Disney Magic and the Disney Wonder, the Disney cruise is partyville central. And while the Disney-themed touches on board tend to be subtle and elegant, there are lots of opportunities to meet Disney characters on board, too, including the Princesses, Mickey, Minnie, Donald and Goofy. Make sure your kids have their autograph books ready.

We're sorry, but a Disney cruise isn't for you. We suggest you go camping in a forest in the middle of nowhere instead.
